Profile: 5th Generation Seiun Hara Soemon (Childhood name: Hara Satoshi)
A time-honored traditional technique, sophisticated crafting tools and a type of soil called “ma-ne” perfect for metal casting- These are the treasures passed down from our ancestors, which form the foundation of our cast metal production. From soil, charcoal, beeswax, pine resin, and straw, we imbue all these blessings we received from nature into our cast metal products that will accompany our users through thick and thin together. As we continuously strive to improve our traditional craft techniques, we also collaborate with domestic and international designers, and local residents to create a new purpose and role of traditional crafts for the next generation.
