Awarded the most prestigious award at the 10th Niigata Traditional Crafts Exhibition. The same model was given three different types of finishing. The rapid oxidation caused by the baking of rice-bran paste produced a unique pattern on the surface that resembles the skin of a reptile. Crafted into the optimum size and shape, it is perfect as a flower vase.
The traditional Lost-wax casting method is recognized as the intangible cultural asset of
Niigata Prefecture.
